You Just Discovered Vibrant Media’s IntelliTXT Technology

So I’m browsing the devshed forums, looking for info on moz-border-radius. Amidst the usual yiffing, someone makes an oblique comment about “the internet”. And the word “internet”, I note, is linked. I hover, and a tooltip pops up with an ad for AOL Broadband.

::sigh::

Advertising on the web I can accept as a necessary evil. Or if not necessary, tolerable? What is not acceptable, however, is for the advertising to extend over into the content, or to alter the content. This has me so steamed; I can’t even articulate all the ways in which it offends me.

Its just wrong.

“IntelliTXT helps empower users to view relevant advertising on their own terms.”
